Discover Our Future
The redevelopment of the Edmonton EcoPark is a groundbreaking project for public sector investment in waste facilities in London. Led by the North London Waste Authority the investment in this project is a testament to the commitment to building a greener future for all. The new EcoPark will provides residents of north London with better facilities.
Energy Recovery Facility
The new Energy Recovery Facility will (ERF) produce energy in the form of electricity, heat or both through the combustion of residual waste. Residual waste (or black bag waste) is the non-recyclable waste that’s left after recycling.
District Heating
We are working with Energetik to unlock the potential heat output of our facility by supplying it to local homes through the Meridian Water Heat Network. The Meridian Water Heat Network is a local scheme being promoted by Energetik, which is aiming to use the available heat generated by the replacement facility.
EcoPark House
EcoPark House will be an education and visitors’ centre where people can find out more about recycling resources, heat, power, and how to reduce the carbon impact of their waste. The two-storey building will face onto the River Lee Navigation and have office space on the upper floors.
Resource Recovery Facility
The new flagship resource recovery facility will manage around 135,000 tonnes of recyclable materials produce by north London residents every year.
